This little angle is only nine days old and did not want to go to sleep. She was so alert during the entire session that most of the pictures were taken at the end when she finally feel asleep. There is nothing sweeter then a newborn sleeping.

In the next few days I am going to be updating my blog with some past session that I didn't post. It has been a busy time in the Roberts house so I have not been able to give my photography or my blog some much needed TLC.
This is my adorable nephew Jaaron, he was a little trooper for his session. The entire session only lasted 30mins but in that time we hit three locations and numerous smiles.

I am currently only offering two sessions a month and am booked until October.If you are intrested in booking a session I have the following days open.

October 17th morning at 6am or evening at 4:45pm
October 24th morning at 6am or evening at 4:45pm

Of course this would be for an outdoor session, lighting is best at these times if you choose the evening session please remember to be on time since we will only have around 1hr 15min of shooting time till sunset. I can do other times of day however if you want the most out of your session these are the times I would recommend. Indoor is also available and since we will not be working around lighting then there are more options available.

I met with Madison and her mom yesterday to get her 5 year old pictures done. Madison was so well behaved her session was a breeze!!! Her mom wasn't feeling well so I was only able to get some shots of her in her adorable tutu but I look forward to meeting up with them again to get some in different outfits. Happy 5th birthday Madsion.

Meet Katie

When I say Katie is beautiful that is an understatement!!! I met with her and her mom at the Great Salt Lake to take some senior pictures to add to my portfolio. Katie was a trooper between climbing rocks, getting attacked by bugs and having to take in the lovely smell of the Great Salt Lake she was the perfect model. Big Changes

I am going to be making some changes, my prices will be going up however this will allow for a print package with every session. This way you will get professional quality prints in addition to the cd with your images. Once you see the difference between a professional print verses one from walmart you will notice what a difference it makes. The reason I am doing this is I take pride in my work and I want you to also take pride in displaying your pictures from your session.

I have also been MIA for a while due to a busy home life, but I am getting back on the saddle and hope to start taking on more sessions. I will be offering specials through out the summer in hopes to build my client base.

I am so excited that it is finally warming up outside, I love outdoor pictures and have been waiting all winter to schedule some outdoor sessions. This session took place at the Great Salt Lake, the Great Salt lake it a perfect location for family photos. I had so much fun with the Nickel family, even though it was cold out they didn't complain at all, even little Trip who is only a year old. If only we could stop time. I have had to take a part-time job due to financial reasons, therefor I have had to put my photography on the back burner. I am still scheduling sessions however it may take up to a week for me to get back to you regarding time availability. Also due to time I will only book two sessions a month, that way I can provide my clients great images. Photography is my passion and hope to be able to make it in the business until then I will have to take it day by day.

I am hoping to offer boudoir pictures within the next few months unfortunately not in time for valentines day. This was my first session my cousin and sister were nice enough to let me practice. I got a lot of great shots, if you would like to see some more example please let me know (since the they are in their lingerie I will only allow women to view, and only if they are interested in booking a session in the near future). If you are interested in helping me build my boudoir portfolio please let me know so I can get you the information. I am only looking for one-two more models.

Old friends new faces

Today I had the opportunity to photograph an old friend and meet his daughter. Matt and I went to High School together and just recently reconnected on Face book (love reconnecting with old friends). His daughter Kaylee was one of the most adorable little girls ever and she photographed so well. I want to thank you Matt for driving to Tooele and letting me meet your daughter. I love a good silly face and when possible I like to get one with every session of course there are times when a silly face is not possible (a baby or a family session with only a baby). A picture should capture a persons personality and what better way to do this then by having them give me their best silly face. They also make for great collages and cards. Here are some from past sessions more to come as I get them.

What a fun group of kids!!! They were all so well behaved even the two year old. Their session only lasted about 20mins but in that time I was able to get three group pics and individuals of each. When I saw the oldest I was so excited, out here it seems that there are boys every where and no little girls.

My sister came over on Sunday to get her family pictures done in my home studio. For those of you who have been in my studio you know it is quite small (in fact it is in a room that is 8x8)so I am only able to fit about 4 children in one sitting and it is tight. I had no problem getting my sister and the baby but Aaron is another story. He is like 6ft 2in and if he were any taller I think he would have hit his head on the ceiling. I love the way the pictures turned out.

Some of the most unlikely location make for the best pictures. These pictures were taken at an old hospital here in Tooele, it was a little spooky but we got some great pictures. Some things you might want to think about for your next family picture is what look do you want to achieve. If you want more traditional then parks or canyons are perfect. For non traditional try an urban themed session old buildings, fields, and even an old door. Tell me a little bit about your family and I would love to give some suggestions.

When my sister first saw this door she thought I was crazy but it turned out to be her favorite picture from the session.

This picture capture Brooklyn's personality, she is 6 going on 16. Picture should capture the moment, and this picture did just that.

Can you say adorable!!! That is exactly what this family is, all of them seem to take the perfect picture. I guess you can say that being photogenic runs in their family. I had the opportunity to photograph Jordan and Taryn last year (the kids) they were one of my first photo shoots. Their pictures turned out great then and this year was no different. Trick or Treat!!!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, I love how you can be anything or anyone you want for one day. Not only is it my favorite holiday but it is also one of the most memorable days in my life, my son was born on Halloween two years ago. I thought it would be fun to set up a Halloween scene so that everyone who attended his party would be able to get their picture taken in their costumes. There were so many fun costumes, here are a couple of my favorites.

I have been waiting 2 1/2 years and finally I was able to get my nephew to look at the camera during his family pictures. We had to play peek a boo behind a ledge but it was worth all the work. Here is a collage I put together to show him and his best friends Woody. Woody has become a part of my sisters family, he even made it in the family photo which I will be posting soon.

Trash the Dress

This location is about 15 mins from my house, I have wanted to use it for quite some time. Originally I was wanting to do senior pictures there (which I still plan on doing) but then I got the opportunity to do a "Trash the Dress" session with my sister.

For those of your who do not know what "Trash the dress" means I will try to explain. When you get married your find your perfect dress wear it once and then it sits in your closet until you decide to pull it out and show your dauther or if you are like me think about how much weight you have put on since you bought it. Another option is take it out get all dolled up and get some unique, fun pictures taken and get to wear your perfect dress one more time. The location can very from a construction site, to a body of water or even a junk yard.

Ok so this isn't very trash the dress but I loved the way the sun was shinning though the tree and couldn't resist

Blue eyed cutie

I am focusing on my natural lighting pictures. Here are some I took of my adorable nephew Kaison in front of my back door. They were taken with 100% natural light, it was a quick session only lasting about 5 minutes. He has the most gorgeous blue eyes. He is only 5 1/2 months old but acts and looks alot older. Black and White

I love the effect that black and white can give certain photographs. I usually prefer color images but I come across some photographs during processing that I love in black and white. Here are a few examples, all have been processed differently not all black and white are the same.

Ok so this one isn't completely black and white but I love the little color it does show. I'm not big on selective coloring but if it looks natural and on the right picture it can make all the difference.

I had the opportunity to take Kadens one year pictures yesterday, he is such a cute little guy. The entire time I was there taking his pictures he was so calm, didn't even cry. After we got all the pictures we needed he got to do a cake smash, boy did he love it. He was pretty much covered head to toe in frosting by the time it was done.

Had a mini session with my nephew on Sunday who is now a month old, and when I say a mini session that is and overstatement. I had to hurry and get him while he fell asleep so I put him on a bean bag and draped a blanket over the back of my couch. The whole session was 10mins, I manage to get one great shoot of him before he got upset.

Cake Smash

Braxton is turning one year old and his mother and I decided to have him do a cake smash session to send out on his birthday invites. He loved the cake!!!! Dolly was a great model she was a little shy at first but towards the end I was able to get some great natural shoots of her. This is my first bridal session, I still have alot to learn but I love the way her pictures turned out. I cant wait to photograph her wedding.

I took these pictures of Michael yesterday and got some really great shots. The session only lasted 15 minutes!!!! I was worried at first that he would not want to get his picture taken, he is three years old and pretty shy. Once I told him he could wear a cowboy hat like Woody he couldn't wait to say cheese.

Yesterday I took my kids out along with their 3 month old cousin to get some family pictures done for their great grandma. My husband comes from a small family and his grandma only has three grand kids and now only 3 great grand kids (unlike my family I have over 30first cousins). The session went pretty good, I went in expecting only to get one good picture out of it due to the age of my son (terrible twos). I got some pretty good pictures, I can't wait to show my husbands grandma.

This is a picture of my son, he is only 18 months old and it is very difficult to get a good picture of him. I am always using my kids as models to get some practice (especially natural lighting outdoors) as soon as I saw my little man hanging out side I couldn't resist taking him picture.

At the beginning of the session "L" who is on the right was so happy and all smiles but "G" didn't really like it however by the time we were at the end they switched. This was my first maternity session, I was so nervous that it would work out like I had pictured in my mind. My sister is the model and has the cutest pregnant belly, she was willing to try anything which made it easy to get some great pictures. I had the opportunity to photography these two adorable kids. "D" was so cute, she was so fun to photograph. Every time I would get her all ready to take a picture she would have to show me one of her dance moves, which by the way she is really good at. So when "B" was born I did some pics of him in this tea cup, my son Mason was with me and he was around 1 at the time and he had to get in the cup. When he finally got his turn in the cup he was so excited and was smiling like crazy. So my cousin wanted me to try some of "B" in the cup since she loved the ones of Mason. "B" on the other hand was not to happy with this. This was the only picture I could get before the poor little guy broke out in tears. I love they way this picture turned out even though he didn't smile he still so cute. However Mason is now 18months and still loves to get in the cup.

We went back out to Tooele canyon to see if we could get some more shoots of these three sisters, in hopes that the twins would be happier. I brought gummy bears this time and both little girls loved getting gummy bears for smiles.

I have never been there before and it was a perfect location for pictures. My cousins family is so cute her little boy is 10 months and hated getting his picture done, we are going to be getting more individual pictures of him Friday.

This is my adorable nephew, he is the sweetest little guy. He is six weeks old and can hold his head up like a three month old. Every time I would try to get him to lay his head down he would get so upset with me. I can't wait to get to see him again. I just love this little guy!!!!

These two little boys are so handsome, both of them had gorgeous eyes. These two were as different as night and day, "T" who is the oldest was so social and willing to try anything, and "G" was so quiet and shy.
